Children are natural learners. They develop self-esteem and a love for learning when we allow them to use their hands, invent, and create new things. When your child knows how to count to ten, begin to introduce numerals and number names. Use a natural progression and support the learning of letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Make alphabets out of ordinary objects, play online games, color and practice writing. Allow your child to learn at her own pace. Before you know it, she will be ready to learn English and to meet the Common Core State Standards in Kindergarten.
